explore community devices →

LOOPA is a portable, battery-powered musical multi-tool combining a polyphonic synthesizer engine, a multi-track tape recorder, a step sequencer, and a live looper. Hardware is almost ready — we are still focused on making it stable, powerful and reliable. While the hardware matures, we encourage you to try the web simulator, build your own instruments and effects in Dev Studio, and explore what the community has already created.

2022

It all started with a reverb effect running on a Raspberry Pi Zero — tucked into a wooden case with a handful of knobs and a cheap display. Rough, but it made something click.

2023

The first fabricated PCBs arrived. A proof-of-concept portastudio with built-in instruments — real hardware, not just a breadboard. The idea was starting to look like a product.

2024

Not a dramatic leap from 2023 on the surface, but a year of honest experimentation with controls and workflow. The project still didn't feel solid — and that discomfort pushed things forward.

2025

Everything changed: a new UI layout, a bigger screen, a touchpad replacing the encoders. The first videos went viral. Still running on a Raspberry Pi Zero — which made it all the more surprising.

2026

A Rockchip processor, colour screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, quad channels, FM radio — and more still to be announced. LOOPA is nearly ready.
